Coming up to a service

The service is due on my Zed next month. I know it's due its 2 year engine and brake fluid change

Am i correct in saying Air filter needs changing every 3 oil change? My zed has done 44,500 miles so will need a new air filter if that is the case
What about the Microfilter?
What about spark plugs?


I've just done a price check online with BMW:

Engine oil service.
Cost:
£136

Engine oil service with microfilter.
Cost:
£190

Engine oil service with microfilter, air filter and spark plugs.
Cost:
£387

Brake fluid.
Cost:
£71

I dont really want to pay £387 to get the oil and filters done if the spark plugs don't need doing...
Are spark plugs part of CBS or is there a recommended mileage for changing them?
 
Year 2 was oil, filters and brake fluid for me. Year 4 added spark plugs and some other non discript stuff that hiked the price to circa £500. It's due it's 6 year service this month.. I assume but need to check it's just oil, filters and brake fluid again.
 
As Maniac says it's basically the same service you had done at 2 years. Might be CBS but they change everything at 4 years regardless so you'll of already had a new air filter even though it probably didn't need it. So just £190 and £71 but phone a dealer and see if you can get a combined price which is usually lower. It's just a cycle.

I also assume the price there also includes a discount for the car being over 4 years old?
 
Did you not get an all inclusive Service Package with it Matt ? I paid £400 when i bought my 5 series and thats all inclusive for 5 years or up to 62,000 miles.

Try phoning Dick Lovett in Bristol, say you came in on the Z4 day and ask whats the best price they can do for you...

Hi Guys

Thanks for the replies

I bought my car privately when it was 4 years old, 32k on the clock

Just checking the service history:

Car was registered June 2009

17,641k - brake fluid , engine oil and air filter ( June 2011)

31,797k - inspection, brake fluid, engine oil, mobilty system (??) (June 2013)

As you can see the Microfilter has never been changed

I'll give Dick Lovett a ring although they will need to offset the cost of petrol in going from Bristol to Cardiff and Bridge toll :-)
