Well i have just bought an E85 04 reg 2.2 in black... I pick it up tomorrow night, but it has a fault with the roof... Unlocks and locks ok but need to put up and down manual.... pics up as soon as i have some

Z looks tidy. The roof should not be a big issue for you as there is a chap not far from you puts the motor in the boot for £80.

reading a few posts on here i think it will be rectified with out a new motor as you can hear it and feel it moving.

Lovely looking car OP, especially the colour combination!

FWIW If I had a Roadster I think I'd still invest in getting the roof motor moved, while it does still work (£80 is less than a new motor)!

Hope so as its a pain to start ownership with a big job, unless it's factored into the price

Yes the Z3 has gone, long story but I am back in a 4 ... Just need to get the roof sorted

Many lament the Z3 but my short ownership left me in no doubt they are aged inside , outside & even more so from behind the wheel  just wasn't for for me & step too far backwards even for a weekender
The E85 a huge step up in all departments imo , good move

Thanks... there is 2 things i need to sort... 1 The roof not going up or down but locking and unlocking... 2 Bonnet release cable not working snapped at the bonnet... any info on these, thanks

Welcome back. Plemty of info about on roof motor issues, but with regards to the bonnet catch, I be,eice you can access the release by popping out the kidney grills.

Hi thanks yes I have popped the drivers side one out but still can't get it to open , is it easy enough to change the cable

You sure it's definitely snapped my old Z was a bugger to open try pushing down on the bonnet whilst someone pulls the handle

Wel that's the 2 little problems fixed , roof fully working , bonnet works and found that the hand brake was in service mode . Now the hand brake is adjusted and fully working... After doing a little bit more work I might be selling it :( as I just really need a small car to go back and forth to work

Why can't you use the Z4 to commute? It's perfectly capable of being a daily and a 2.2 is nothing special to keep the miles off or worth a great deal to sell.
