Can anyone help ? My car has the comfort pack & on the spec sheet says electric mirrors,I thought that ment electric folding ones. Pressed the lock button on the remote for 10seconds as we do on our 640 but mirrors don't fold.

You've got a button next to the switch to change from drivers to passenger side mirror for adjustment. This other button must be pressed to make the wing mirrors fold in and depressed to fold them back out. Old tech really.

If you've pressed that and it's still not working then they aren't working. Not so great!

I thought that this was also an option. It's mentioned in the brochure as an option but not included in comfort access but when I've checked my price list it is listed against it but I'm sure it's an option as per the actually brochure

  Comfort Access for keyless access to driver and passenger doors and luggage compartment, also includes keyless starting of the engine and remote opening/closing of the Retractable Hard-top.

***edit*** I'd be checking with the garage the build spec. Might be able to find it online and see of it's mentioned

Yeh - I think the OP means that they don't fold when using the remote keyfob when locking / unlocking the car.

I'm pretty sure that is normal on the e89, the mirrors don't fold with the remote keyfob.

You can gain that functionality with a smarttop unit (that's one of the reasons I bought it) - I like to confirm the car is locked just by looking out the window (mirrors up = locked).

This is the button that folds the mirrors....the one to the left of the sliding switch

Its weird because my 330ci which I owned between 04 & 06 you could do if from the key , yet not e89
Yes chas, same here we had a e46 years ago & you could use the key fob to fold the mirrors.

Angie think you can get it programmed from the dealer. Won't bother, probable never use them.

Yeah I believe you can.

I only use them when parking somewhere a little tighter. Always been of the opinion I'd rather if someone's going to get so close they hit the mirror not the body of the car.

I would rather be in control of them especially during the winter.

Get a Smart Top....they close when car is locked

Bit of a waste just for that. Cheaper to get the dealer to program it. Apart from that setting and the 1 touch roof operation the facelift E89s have a roof which can operate whilst moving and if you've comfort access then you already can put the roof back up with the key. All things that are useful with the smart top if you don't have these options and comfort acess.

I got a smart top for the one touch but actually I've never had a chance to fit it and I don't think I will be. Think it will be going up for sale.
