Comfort pack changes?

Hi

I'm about to buy my first Z4 (E89) and looking around the second hand ones that are available, it seems that Comfort Pack doesn't always mean the same thing? Does anyone know at what point it changed to the current specification (i.e. extended storage, extended lighting, wind deflector, cruise control, front and rear PDC), rather than the less generous specification that it used to be?

Thanks very much.

I'm not sure what the Comfort PACK is you refer to, but there's something known as Comfort ACCESS..? (In the UK anyway?)

What follows is taken from another forum, but this pretty much covers what my car (with Comfort ACCESS) has (which is for sale...see my signiture ; )

"You can open, close and start the car without ever touching your key. It is sufficient to have in your pocket. When you pull the door handle the car will unlock automatically. To lock the car you have a certain point which you need to touch for about 1 second on the E89 it is next to the handle".

"Obviously you still have the possibility to open and close like before (so mechanically and using the remote clicking the buttons). Comfort access just adds a third way of doing this (and believe me you will not use the other two any more)".

"When inside the car, you can press the start button without inserting the key as well. One other nice feature is: Since the car knows when a key is inside, you cannot forget the key in the trunk and close it locking yourself out".

"With comfort access you can do both open and close the convertible roof with the remote (without it I think you can only go one way)".

"Finally with comfort access you also get a comfort loading function with which you open the roof only half way (meaning you need only 10 seconds instead of 20) and you can then access your boot space".

thanks

David

Comfort package (2010 brochure) includes:
Exteneded lighting;
Interior and exterior mirrors, folding, auto-dimming;
Park Distance Control (PDC) front and rear;
Storage compartment package; and
Wind deflector.

Yep, there's a comfort pack, costs about £1500 but has about £2300 of goodies if bought separately. Got comfort pack on mine. Well will have on Monday when I get it!

Thanks ksher, exactly the info I needed. Picked up my 2010 23i M Sport at the weekend and loving it so far!
