Yes I bought and installed myself.

Did you also install the GapTech module by any chance? I was wondering if the double-click for the windows on the Xcar-module and the three-clicks on the GapTech module for the hood, would interfere with each other?

I had installed GapTech module before this. They work fine together. :)

Ae angel eyes thanks ... Deffo not out of date I don't think mine has those I have the xenon units. Anyway can you chose which features you use and which you don't?

I really think the fog lights on at low speeds is stupid. Edpecially if they come on and off. I can see that option causing accidents as people think your flashing them out of junctions etc

My German is not existent

Do they ship to UK?

And what is that drop down box for something that cost €4,90?

I understand they ship anywhere in the world, the 4,90 extra is probably for the pink clips etc, because you can buy the module without those clips too.
My german isn't great either but my Google Chrome with embedded translater works pretty good

Nice one thanks mate

I will try and get a translator add on for firefox

Just received the unit and installed it immediately! Install was pretty simple though I had I hard time understanding the instructions which were all German... Allthough I am sure you all speak fluently German, here's some instructions:

- disconnect the minus pole from the battery in the trunk (pic 1)
- unscrew two screws and 1 plastic BMW-pin (you have to pull out the top to pull out the pin) in the panel below the glove compartment (pic 2)
- Now you can see the white ECU (on mine there was an additional black box which is the anti-carjack system) (pic 2)
- unplug the middle plug (three plugs in total) by flipping the white clip forward (you have to push on top of the plug and pull the white clip forward at the same time) (pic 3)
- at the back side of the plug (where the wires come out) you can pull out the two plugs inside the black plug (pic 4)
- now you have a black and grey plug clicked to each other, slide them away from each other to get them separated (pic 5)
- in the sides of the two plugs you can see numbers going from 1 to 18, 19 to 36 and 37 to 54, these are the pin numbers you need to select the correct wires in the instructions (pic 6)
- connect the wires with the pink plugs, solding is not advised in the manual (pic 7)
- for the single and double beep when locking and unlocking the car, you can install a small sound device deliverd in the same package (pic 8)
- close it all up and program the lights the way you want it

I have the angels, foglights and rear lights coming on when locking and unlocking the car (that's so cool btw). Foglights as drl's, three time indicating on single touch, cooming home feature after turning off the lights etc...

2 downsides of the device:
- you can not select the small headlights as drl (to which I linked my angels), so no angels while driving with lights off
- you can not use the feature for the windows (all the way down or up on double-click of the remote) and use the Gap-Tech unit at the same time: closing the roof also makes the windows go down after the first double-click and the windows get stuck halfway

Nice work, can you clarify the DRL angel eye problem. If you've linked your AE to your sidelights, and leave your lights on Auto, you can't have them on as DRL?

If you have the sidelights / AE set to come on when unlocking, do they then turn off when you start the engine?

Many thanks, this sounds great, many people have wanted AE on when unlocking :D

What sort of .ae are we talking here? Like ccfl kit?

You kno to get those to come on when you unlock is easily achievable with about £5 worth of bits and will only take an hour or so

I can post up a how to if you wish,

Yeah, CCFLs. Please, that would be great. I think many have looked at it, the thought was to run a wire from the interior light or similar on a relay etc or is it much easier?

I will post up a diy

When I'm on my laptop

Yea a wire from the footwell lights and you could use a relay or simply two diodes

I can post up the theory but can not post pics of the job as I don't have ae on my z4

This all comes from e46

The module does not allow the little bulb to be used as DRL: only choice between foglights, big lights (not high beam), tail lights or the front left bulb of the indicators (like the US versions). So I might consider connecting them to those bulbs: are those the "side lights" you meant? If I connect the angels to those, then I can have them on all the time!

If not, then yes they turn off when putting the engine on and I do not have auto-lights... But in principle there is a good workaround!

As for the rest, the module does much more than that: comfort indicators, right or left fog lights on when turning, and all lights fully customiseable...

This looks like a great mod! I have done a bit of research today on this but can't find how you actually change the settings? How do you program it? Any chance of a a few pics or a short video of it?
Thanks!
