Colour question

I went to pick up my new Zed on Monday that I'd 'reserved'
Drove for 3 hours, looked the car over - absolutely stunning, blue with cream leather interior

Enter dippy sales guy. 'That's not your car sir'
'Yes it is'

Turns out they had two. He's reserved the wrong one, and the one I wanted was now sold! :headbang:

Anyway. Going to look at a couple more today, one silver, one black.
I always said I wouldn't have a black one as I thought they were high maintenance to keep clean, show every mark etc.

In the pictures it does look more impressive than the silver one (no offence to silver owners - my current Zed is silver)
Any thoughts from owners?

Tough one Obewan, are you buying a DD or a toy? How OCD are you about a clean car? Purely IMO black is the best colour and the worst colour, they look so good clean but as you say do show up any dirt, nicks etc, and if you like a clean car black is an absolute PITA to keep clean, not good if it's a DD. Silver is the complete opposite, they look very nice and are low maintenance but just don't have that extra zing. The mineral grey looks fantastic and would probably be my choice if I had another simply as it's so nice and a change from black.

I'm stupidly OTT about mine being clean and as it's admittedly a garage queen toy so I can keep on top of it but as a DD? I very much doubt I'd go near black.

Totally agree with John. I've had 3 black bm's over the last 10 years. Stunning when nice & clean polished & waxed. But if you have ocd like myself there a nightmare to keep clean. I washed half my drive away washing mine 3/4 times a week,I had 2 black ones at the time. :
My wife fancy's a black car again & I'am digging my heals in ! Lol
Lite colours are a lot easier to keep clean & looking good for longer.

Thanks for the advice guys. It is my DD other than the motorbike
Re silver, that's exactly what I said to my wife, my silver car looks clean even when it's not
Her reply was that 'you clean it every week so what's the issue?'
Agree with the comment on the darker silver, I saw one on the motorway yesterday. The one I'm looking at is Glacier sliver
Must admit I'm tempted with the. Black one. Decisions decisions

Are you looking at e89's ?

If so the Deep Sea Blue is worse than black for showing dirt quickly, but is a lovely colour though

Hi Sars. Yes an E89
Not sure which blue the first car was, but I had similar thoughts about keeping it clean
It was stunning though with cream leather interior :)

It was most likely DSB, however it's nearly new in could be Estoril, look at my signature, the zed is DSB and the 4 series is Estoril. DSB is a gorgeous shade of blue when it's clean and I did not regret ordering it

Yep I think it was DSB looking at your pic Sars
Anyway all resolved now. Looked at both cars today
Wasn't keen on the red seats/interior in the black car.
They looked more a rusty red and looked a bit dried out.

Deposit paid on the glacier silver car, picking up next Wed. Can't wait :driving:
Thanks for all the comments
