i just use baby wipes
thats about the worst thing to use on leather , at least get some leather wipes or treat it to some gliptone liqiud leather

gulp lol, i have had leather seats in cars for the last 10 years and i've also given them a quick wipe with baby wipes

why are they bad?

I had a cream leather interior on Volvo C70 that was still looking good after
3 years.
But now I play golf, and I'll likely be getting into any car with golf gear still on,
So maybe more of a problem.

I'm loving the new Z4 in white, there's one around the corner from my place and it looks great... a red leather interior would have set it off a treat but they have tan leather.

Have you had a go on the Z4 virtual builder? You just click the options you want and it shows you what your Z4 will look like.

hello and welcome

the colour is all down to your own personal choice, i have a carbon black, very nice but black shows up the dirt - needs lots of cleaning

what model are you thinking of buying?

I'm with Taz x. I had a black car years ago. What a pain! Black shows dust, water splatters and every sort of thing. You can wash it and then literally watch it get dirty while it is still parked. :x I would recommend some of the lighter colors for that reason. Z4 Pilot

They remove the oils within the leather making it harder, less durable and more likely to crack. Leather conditioners restore the oils 'feeding the leather' making it soft and preventing cracking.

Better to just use a damp cloth to clean leather seats, with bi-yearly conditioning. In a convertible I would say condition quarterly.

I've spoken to BMW Park Lane, and they are going to try and get me a number of cars brought in via a transporter on Thursday so that i can see the three main colours i am interested in directly on the cars.
They did say it might be difficult to source a melbourne Red metallic car.

The melbourne red looks great in the promo stuff, but amateur photos make it look a bit orange with little metallic element.
I am increasingly inclined to go with the Space Grey, but still sticking with the white design interior.

boogle, cheers, promise from now on i will not use baby wipes on my seats

braingirl, Park Lane sound very good, hope they get a good selection for you

Space Grey with black leather. This combination may be boring, but still looks nice and practical. Not many Space Grey around though.

Sarah, the Z4 looks very sophisticated in space grey and is a good choice imo. But like ksher I would heistate about the white interior - although it will look fantastic, if as you say you'll be golfing etc., think of the practicalities. But I'm biased, and have a penchant for black leather (no comments thanks, guys) which I suppose stems from the time I had my Tojeiro. You can't beat the classic look :)

Also, with your golfing activities planned, have you considered getting rubber flooor mats and boot lining ? (again, no comments thanks :D) Just a thought.

I would go for white paint, black interior with piano dash if it was me  wanted a decent white car for a while now

Also like space grey with red leather (had this on my last Z4C)

my new one is blue and gets more attention than the grey though - people def prefer it

looked at a sapphire black a while ago and it wasn't for me. I didnt like the colour from certain angles

Black with red leather makes a bold statement in my opinion :)

I think a thief would notice the car no matter the colour, make sure you take your car keys to bed with you

Have been thinking about boot lining etc.

I think my heart is set on the pure White design interior though - I think it's my hear ruling the head on that one. Will just have to be OCD about keeping seats clean.
..and probably changing shoes/trousers etc before driving home after golf.

The exterior is still a mystery though, and now not sure about wheels. 19 in double spoke, 19in v spoke or stick with standard 35is rims. Probably get tyre insurance.
...and probably shortfall insurance too.

I had shortfall with my 120 when I bought it Sarah - but as I've kept the car it was, in the end, a complete waste of money.

Will you be keeping the Z4 ? (I think so :) )

Assuming that I can agree a suitable deal, and BMW are willing to sell to me then yes I'm not sure I would be parting with it anytime soon.

I guess the shortfall insurance is for peace of mind if it gets stolen in first two years.
I don't expect to be writing it off...and with all insurance you often only need it when you don't have it.

It does look V nice! Do they do white shag pile carpets to match

Might be keeping keys in Police approved rifle safe!!

Z4 driving girl who likes golf and owns a rifle.... 8) will you marry me?

The 35iS in Red & Ivory looks absolutely stunning in the flesh, I'm slightly bias but I think if you buy a Sports Car with a great shape it has to be red.. I'll get flamed but it seems such a waste to create such a pretty car then paint it grey/silver.

I prefer Imola to Melbourne but it still takes your breath away.. I can't imagine white seats being *that* difficult to keep clean but red/black is a good combo if so.

I'd love the Saddle coloured leather in mine, there's at least one Zed here from the US with it.. :sweetheart:
