Hello,

Just want gauge some opinions. What do peeps think of a 3.0sdrive Msport in Stratus Grey with Canberra Beige interior. May be looking to buy it tomorrow but haven't seen this combo in the flesh yet.

Cheers

Good luck tomorrow.
It doesn't matter what any of us think of that colour. If you like it that's all that matters.
For what it's worth I think that's a good combo!

+1 if you like it buy it, it's your car who cares what other people think :-).

I think it's a good combo too for what it's worth!

gr8 combo
will be looking very elegant
but keep in mind
the beige seats should be used very carefully, i.e. they tend to take over the colour of cloths you are wearing
NO blue jeans, nothing in red or black...
my car with beige seats is 3 months old and i only have had worn white, beige or light grey trousers, the seat-surface started to become grey-ish
as my wife wanted to wear colourful summerdresses, we used a blanket to cover the seat, whenever her outfit was other than white...
still: after 3 months a light layer of grey-ish
but with some simonez leather care i was succcessful to bring back the original beige
but i heard of cases of wearing blue jeans or red dresses that ruined the seats forever
are you ready to make these sacrifices? then go for it
if you want seats you can used without any care: forget it

Hmmm not sure I agree there, I spend a lot of time in my car, 62,000 miles in 30 months. I use autoglym cleaner and then a protector every few months, okay the stitching has darkened in some places due to the cleaner, but the seats are fine and I wear everything from blue jeans to red dresses.

Blue jeans red dresses? Not at the same time I hope!!

I wear jeans mst of the time, and with a little maintenance they look as good as new. I use wipes and AG too....got some Gliptone from BMW Fest the other day, so going to try that

As others have said, buy what makes you happy.

The E85 I had was Space Grey with red leather - IMO this was the best colour combo. When I came to change to the E89 I thought I would get the same but I thought that the car did not look so purposeful in Space Grey so I went for sapphire black again with red leather. This is the best colour combo for the E89 - IMO!

I like it, Space Grey with the beige interior. There are many nice colour combo's imo :) And as for wearing jeans, I have a Sapphire Black with the Coral Red interior(extended leather package, even nicer imo ;)) and you can see marks from new jeans on the red too. Just get yourself a decent cleaner (I use the stuff from BMW) and it's not too difficult to make the leather look new again.

A neighbour of mine has an E85 in Space Grey with red leather and it is a truly stunning car....it was driving past that every day that wouldn't let my dreams of a Z4 die!

Personally, I think the Deep Sea Blue with Beige leather is the best, and its the colour I would love. However, I went with Alpine White and Black leather, cos I am paranoid about dark colours showing up swirls (after having had a Black 3 series) and I too would be worried about keeping beige clean, cos I live in Jeans and use my car for work...and as an IT engineer (i.e. dogs body!) I can get quite dirty. Saying that, we've got light beige leather sofa at home and thats held up ok.

But as others have said, its your car, and its what you like that counts.

Hehe!!! Big :D all day.

I will soon be joining the E89 fraternity. Deposit taken and going to look at the car tomorrow.

Thank you for all the great responses. I did really like the Space Grey / Beige combo but wasn't to be. So a Space Grey / Black it is. :D :D :D :driving:

Sooo nice and can't wait to see it tomorrow.

And I will most definetly post pics later in week.

This forum is the best bar none.

My BMW lineage has just gotten longer!!!

Congrats

Think you made the right choice over the seats, when I went for the test drive prior to ordering the demo was in space grey with white or whatever colour seats and it looked good but I wasn't sure how they would look after a days use so went with Coral Red

Had a loaner 3 Series Touring, brand new with white seats and they looked 10 years old, the dirt was engrained in the leather and just looked shabby

Tim.
