Colour change or stay the same???

Silver gray hummm i dont think so. Its either a complete change and to be honest i think my mid is made up either dark Blue or stay silver. It will be a complete strip down bar the engine out either way.

I love the DSB but two things put me off - swirls are a nightmare, and I like black interiors and cream looks better than black with the blue.

have a look at FemmeT's car - the colour he went for is absolutely stunning (think it was Lamborghini grey) Details here

If I was changing the car colour I'd only do it if prepared to strip it right back with pretty much everything removed inc. windscreen screen, lights, all rubbers, door handles, locks and on and on and on. Done a few in my time and if not then forget it as it will always look like a colour change under examination.

Well it will to be a complete tear down but leaving the screen in. All other rubbers and handles lights badges you name it will removed. I will be taking the roof off as well and just making sure hats all cleaned and all is well. The more i think about it silver is probably that much easier. The fact i am half way through painting the underside of car silver and its all clean and lovely might help me keep the silver. And i dont fancy doing what i have done so far again with blue!!

As for wraps defiantly a big  I just dont like them. Plus my paint is that bad it would be just as much prep work. And cost more as i have a friend who will be spraying for free. All i need to do is start the prep he will finish it. And pay for materials done :)

Without doubt a colour change is a much harder job than a total respray in the same colour. The upside is you're already doing most of the strip down work that is required, so it's now or never.

Personally if I did it I would not go for an existing Z4 colour but get exactly what I wanted from the paint shop palette. my Jeep changed from flat red to a combo of VW blue and Peugeot silver

Can your mate do shadow chrome effects? How about a custom finish using your original colour? Light to dark grey from top to bottom or vice versa?

Any stripes? Two tone?

. . . I'll get me coat. :D

:driving:

Sorry I couldn't find a Zed for an example.

OMG no thanks!! I am scared now how all you guys think!!

It's probably going to be staying silver. But going for a really bright quality finish.

I thought that I would chuck in black, as every other colour has been suggested :D

I suspect that you are now more unsure than your were at the start, but good luck with the colour!

Try as I might, I just don't get matt colours on cars.
