Collection day.

Hope all goes well. I collected mine way back in July. I know exactly how you feel. We travelled from Lincoln to Cheltenham and I was up at the crack of dawn. I’m well into my seventies and still enjoy the thrill of a new car. Why would anyone ever want to grow up?
I'm only 68 so there's hope for me yet, I thought it was only me who never grew up, the trouble is you don't grow old in your mind but your body certainly does.

Congrats on the pick up! Safe journey back to the 'sunny' south west (driving home from Exeter tonight was NOT fun).
Good to have another Devon e89!

I've used trains 3 times in the last 5 years - and each time it was to collect a car!

Hope the OP has a great drive home - it's certainly far enough to get used to the car! :driving:

I'm looking forward to the next instalment - and the compulsory photos of course!

Drove up to Birmingham yesterday to pick up a new car for MrsG. Horendous weather up, beautifully setting sun on the way home. :D

Long day, London is so busy
And fog on route home
Very smooth car goes rather well
Seats are awesome and lights actually are good

Long day.

I worked in Croydon for several months fitting a telephone exchange for Vodafone, I still remember the biblical traffic & dog eat dog manner :o
I was struck by the brightness of the e89 lights as well, although my si only had halogens which were worse than useless!
Bet you’re cleaning the new zed asap :P

Thanks everyone for all the comments.
Was a long day.
Will pop up some better pictures when she’s all clean.
Certainly happy with the way it drives, just need to sort a few minor bits.
The seats will get a good refresh, only minor wear to the usual drivers bolster.
The wheels don’t appear to be cracked, but will be changing the run flats before to long.
The wheels will want a bit of refurb, as like a lot of city based cars, they have some scuffs to the rims.
Paintwork all seemed pretty good, but the first wash will normally confirm any blemishes.
Overall, an enjoyable first proper drive in the 30i.
Can’t get over the grunt when coming off the numerous roundabouts, certainly made me smile.
Gearbox seems pretty sweet.
Took a bit of getting used to after driving autos for the Last 4 years.
Note to self.
Must remember to change gear when forced to suddenly slow down 😳
Roof tested and all working fine.
Though not on the way home in the fog.
Looking forward to getting her cleaned to my standards, and then enjoy.

Nothing quite like the first drive home in a change of mota.... getting the feel of the engine & handling, all the new nob's, bells & whistles

Sound well chuffed, weather’s cracking today so maybe leave cleaning & go for a good hoon instead
