Why is it being replaced?
I have bought another E89 its the 23i but this one is a bit older because of what I lost on getting rid of the last one. Its being replaced because soon after I bought it I had airbag warning lights come on and after diagnosis it was caused by the pedestrian protection sensor, after two attempts to put it out I bought a new sensor and to fit it the front has to be removed. That's when it became clear that the car had been in a bump, the aluminium bumper support was dented, it had been hidden from sight. I replaced the sensor but the light kept returning so I paid to have the front dented bar replaced. Within a few days the airbag light came on again only this time the problem was with the drivers seat. Diagnostic garage knew how much I had spent and said this fault could be in the ECU Memory and a new module would cost £700 plus fitting, he said I could keep on chasing the fault so recommended I move it.
I bought it private and I believe that owner knew about the bump and had a cover up job done to sell it, there was no way I would sell it on privately so sent it to auctions.
I spent a grand trying to sort it out and then lost another three grand getting rid,
Besides that I had bought a new carbon 3D Quad set up rear diffuser and boot spoiler that never got fitted and the diffuser don't fit this model. Happy Days. :roll:
Nearly gave up altogether on Zeds.

Nasty. Just can’t trust private sellers. Nor can you trust main dealers either:
My 1st Z4 was brand new and had a leak from the very beginning. 6 months of failing to fix (and arguing) and they replaced it for another new one, but left a bitter taste.
My current z4 is a 2011 model and I got it last year, problems with brakes that the dealer tried to hide. They replaced all breaks eventually but tried to pull a fast one.
Hope your new one is all ok and you can enjoy it.

Wish you all the best with your new car tomorrow Brian , thanks for being so understanding about the rear diffuser.... as I say, I think it will move on here pretty quick, don’t forget to post so pictures on here
