Hi Everyone

I have been a member on here for just over 12 months and been looking on and off for a Z4. Been reading quite a bit, and getting a feel for the characters on here :D great forum by the way.

Well, i found what i was looking for just before Silverstone which we went down in my Z3. We were parked adjaceent to the Z4's so had a really good look around them.

I wanted the midnight blue and after checking it out there, decided that was the colour i wanted so once back home I arranged to go and see the one i had found, 200 miles away up in Edinburgh.

So here are a few photos, picked him up today, and had a great drive home. He is a 2.0ltr, 2006, 35,000 miles in midnight blue, black leather interior. Not quite as clean as when i set off, had to remove the wildlife off the front when i got home.

I now have a great little Z3 to sell though :(

Hello little mouse :)

Hurray looks fab Gill, are you pleased with him? what do you think of the drive compared to the Z3? hope you're pleased with him :D

Tim.

Thank you both.

Hi TT, I prefer the drive to the Z3 if im honest. Had a good test drive today if nothing else with a bonus of some stunning scenery.

The colour is really nice, a soft change from the black which i love, from a short distance he looks black but close up a rich midnight colour.

I could take cover if it rains under the wheel arches :? so will look at changing that at some point.

Hi mouse, out of interest what cc Z3 are you comparing your new toy with,
and in what way do you prefer the drive of the Z3?
Not intending to be nosey, just considering a Z4 and trying to get as many views about them
as possible. That Blue is  btw.

Rob.

Thanks for all your welcome messages.

As regards any mods, would like to slightly darken the rear lights, taking that glare of red away and paint calipers. The alloys are in perfect condition and with 4 new tyres cannot justify changing at the moment but would like 17's on at some point.
Dont know if you can buy front wing indicator covers in smoke or not, but will darken those slightly asap.
Nothing to do inside cabin its like new :D other than buy some decent mats and two furry dice................. only kidding :D

First question - when the roof is down there is a tiny light between the buttons which flashes - should it do this?

Will try and answer above post about comparison to Z3 later.

Ive been told by my Z3 buddies that i have moved over to the dark side, well im loving the darkside :D

The tiny light between the buttons means that the last time you operated the roof you took your finger off the button so it didn't white finish the operation of the roof, just keep pressing the button until the light goes out, I also did this once when I got mine :)

Thanks alot, knew it must mean something. I dont think the roof has seen sunlight or rain :? it looks very new, just slight fold impression but i have read they nearly all have that at some point.
He only did 700 miles last year  probaly why he was sold, not being used and garaged most of the year.

As regards to the question about different drive to the Z3, its the Z4 i prefer. I sold my 2.8 Z3 a couple of months ago and still have the 1.9 Z3 for sale, but both were very different to each other aswell. Although ive only had him a day i already prefer the different type/style of driving better. I feel as if i have to 'drive' the Z3 and get constant feed back from the car whereas in the Z4 its smoother, dead quiet, effortless to drive, 6 gears, prefer the cabin/dash style and absolutely love the look of the rear - not sure if that explains anything, but if you are thinking of changing to a 4 best is to drvie a few, you will know straight away if its for you.

Love midnight blue (obviously 8) ), your two sets of pictures show perfectly how different the colour can look depending on light!

Thanks Stuart, its taken me a long time to find the colour i wanted with the black interior - I did find a few over the months but most i came across were either red or cream interiors which are not for me.
