Cold air intakes M54 Lumps...

If anyone has suggestions, I found a mishimoto one that's over £200, rest look to jurt be cones to attach onto existing pipework...really want a tidy install with a heat shield but not spend 100s.....

I've considered this before.
I also share the worries above about it fitting flush to the bonnet.

I also know the air scoop will be different, so not sure how that would impact?

If it works though, I'd consider one. Last year I was consdering making my (getting somebody to!) own heat shield for my RAM Air filter.

Think it will be a trial and error scenario. I just object to paying nearly £1000 for a carbon intake LOL.

Look at aFe Intakes.
Mega money isnt it just for more noise under the hood, suppose it is what it is..i know it wont add anymore power.

Do you have the noise generator on yours?
Have you removed the foam from it?
If you're looking for induction noise similar to the old pancake filters on a carb, then that is certainly a cheaper option, though mostly audible in the cockpit.

I dontbelieve i do, i think this is only on the 3.0l :(

I managed to find all the bits to retrofit on wifey's 2.5i.
Expensive if new, but sometimes they come up on here.

The aFe Intake is one of my favourite mods, and having proper intake sound coming from the outside of the car really enhances the driving experience, £400 or so is a relatively low cost for the smiles you'll get.

Obviously you can just chuck a cone filter with the stock intake pipe, but that doesn't look good and will most certainly cause the engine to lose a few ponies with some heat soak.
