Morning All.. Great start t me day. Just had an error code flash up then it ran rough at low revs. 29ce Cylinder 2 Misfire.. I am assuming its coil pack related as i don't think they have ever been changes at currently just under 90k miles.. Going to order a full back of 6, is there any to recommend or are they all pretty much the same..
 
Personally speaking, I'd go with Bosch coil packs and probably via a good discounted deal on Autodoc.

For the N54 Eldor are regarded as the top option..then NGK, then Bosch and others…FWIW don’t use Hella branded..I did and they ‘popped’ off the plugs..

How many miles has the car done…?

MHD remaps find all the weaknesses in coils n plugs..

Delphi which are good and what BMW use and NGK in stock there today…best to get plugs while you are there :thumbsup:
 
Any branded coil will do Bosch etc.
Different tuners recommend different brands - Bosch is a solid choice.
Check your wiring and plugs carefully, make sure the coli plugs are clean and dry inside, no pin/socket corrosion, no wiring rubbing anywhere etc

In theroy no..especially if they are the 3 point ones..

Depending on your tune the gaps MAY need to be narrowed..you will only know booting it hard to max revs in 3 or 4 or 5 as that's when max strain is on the ignition system..

Redline in 3rd is 85 ish, 4th is 89 is, 5th is 132 ish….6th at 152 ish is probably only for private roads.. :thumbsup:
 
Use the Eldors,I had one go bad after my tune,changed them all along with oem plugs and all is well
 
Check for oil in plug hole. My car started with unstable idle at first start, oil seal in cam cover leaked filling the plug hole.

I've noticed Autodoc have got a lot quicker recently. Less than a week from order to delivery last two times (the EVRI tracking system is crap though).

Agreed, ordered an actuator gasket from them on the 6th Feb and it arrived on 10th or 11th. So Monday > Saturday.
