Coil pack replacement

Question for the group.

I just replaced 2 bad coils, all the plugs, and did an oil change.

Questions is, should I go ahead and change the other 4 coil packs or just run it until they go out.
I drive the car to work and on some road trips. No tracking or anything like that.

2008 Z4 Si with 95,000 miles.

Thanks

Should be fine to keep the other 4 in there, although I replaced all 6 at the same time just because I wanted to do a bit of preventative maintenance.

Ideally replace all of them as they do wear out. If not I’d put a couple of spares in the boot for your trips/commute l.

I’d replace them all on the basis that you could miles away from anywhere when the next one goes. Pumping unburned fuel pass the o2 sensors and cat does them no good at all so could cost you a lot more in the long run.

I replaced mine with bosch ones bought on ebay (much cheaper than getting them at the dealer).

I think at first bosch was OEM and now Delphi is OEM, but I'm not 100% sure of that (maybe Beru was also some time OEM).

If you're willing/able to swap them on the side of the road (and carry the necessary tools) you can get away with having one spare, otherwise I advice to replace them all. Getting the last 4 should be less than £100, and like ph001 said, you can damage your engine (not only pumping unburnt fuel in the cats&o2 sensors, you can also get fuel wash on the cylinder wall (washing away the oil, removing the lubrication from the piston rings) and running on less than 6 cyl will cause vibrations, especially on throttle.
