Coding out the steering wheel airbag

Has anyone done this?
Helping another member who has fitted a steering wheel without an airbag and now has the airbag light on the dash.
Is there a way to code this check out?
I have found something obscure about fitting resistors? Is that the only solution?

All the resistor will do is trick the airbag circuit into thinking there is an active unit in place- as it looks for a resistance of 2-4 ohms which a working unit would offer up

I think there is a way using NCS how to switch that part of the circuit to off- but I’m not 100% how you do that

Probably an option on E46 but not E85?

It looks as though we are going to have to go the route suggested by Stuart and fit a resistor.

No need for the resistor, just code it out with NCS.
THAT, is what I've been asking.
The question is how?
I currently have only codes for the SBSR, so I'm assunming it is fed through that. But nowhere can I find a steering wheel airbag to make 'inactive'.
If it can be done, please explain how.
Thank you.

Read the ABG (ACSM) module, set AIRBAG_FAHRER_ACSM to nicht_aktiv, save the changes to the .MAN file and code back the changes.

Brilliant! Just one thing, this is prefacelift so no ACSM. It has SIM85, SBSL, SBSR
