Coding out Dynamic Brake Control (DBC)

mpm someone will give you a run down on how to change this value and upload it back to the car....... buy the cable and DIY. then at least youve always got the software.

I think I had issues with this... I just put it down to a characteristic, what activates it just a hard stomp after WOT?b I triggered it a few times but couldn't always replicate it?

I can trigger mine if you come off the accelerator quickly and touch the brake, the DBC primes the system for an emergency stop
Clever work 👍I always found that really annoying, its like you panicked and over braked when in effect all you wanted to do was cover the brakes and that electro nanny took over, like her annoying sister in the traction control dept!!!

Fun day at Donington, the z continues to surprise me and owners of many supposedly faster cars (gt4s i'm looking at you :D ) with it's speed.
The removal of dbc has definitely improved feel for me in certain situations. No longer do I feel like I'm hitting a piece of wood, which is pleasant except that with that comes the realisation that pedal movement needs to be greater. This was a surprise on the first few big stops :D
Annoyingly I forgot my laptop so that I could do some back to back comparisons with it off/on. I've got a day at Silverstone on wednesday so will do some further comparisons...

I agree with the pedal feel/travel. Much preferred the longer pedal travel on the e34 M5 - and the more linear effect of both the brake and throttle pedals.

Still got to get my M-Track mode DSC coded yet (for wet days or Welsh hoons - completely off is best for tracks), so will try to get this done at the same time. Should really invest in some proper coding gear, rather than the Carly iPhone/dongle I've got - but it's done what I've need from it so far.

Thanks.

Now just got to find one of the old Windows laptops in the attic after we swapped everything out for Macs some time ago (can't even run it on a W10 VM as none of them are laptops).

I did e same but only because my new laptop has no CD drive... Be prepared for the Windows updates, mine took 2 days :tumbleweed:

It took longer than expected to fit my AP BBK so I’ve not had time to try coding out the DBC. Since I’m flying back to Aus tomorrow, that’ll have to wait until the car lands in Sydney. First impressions of the AP kit were very impressive, albeit on wet roads. The DBC is more intrusive than ever now so it’s definitely got to go!

Just a quick note... Since doing this my hill start assist has stopped working, not a problem to me but may be to others?
