Coding out Airbag Light - Non-Airbag Steering Wheel Retrofit

Hi All,

I can't recall where now, but someone mentioned on here that they could code out the Steering Wheel Airbag light that will come on with an aftermarket non-airbag wheel fitted.

For some random reason my airbag resistors have decided not to work and thrown the fault light up - I'd just like to code it out rather than replace the resistors if possible! I have a diagnostic laptop with a variety of different tools on it, can't recall which one is needed to code this out but pretty sure I have it - just wondering if someone would be kind enough to talk me through the process on the phone for a few beer tokens, so I don't get it wrong and brick my ecu!

Cheers in advance

Ed

You can code out the airbag light on the newer LCI models, I coded mine out as a test to see if it could be done.

You need NCSExpert and NCS Dummy, it's not too difficult if you have both of those programmes.

That's what I'm after doing! I'm certain I've got ncs expert not sure about ncs dummy, will check.

Dummy can be found for free online if you haven't got it. All it does is translates the code into a check box system, which makes it a lot easier to make changes.
