Coding forum

Hi guys,

after a bit of a discussion at today's meet, and with the growing interest in this part of our cars, can we have a subforum specifically for coding?

there are lots of interesting discussions and threads floating around that contain a great wealth of information, that just get buried by the rest of the good stuff here - making it so hard to find the stuff we want.

it'd also be good to have a couple of stickies on there for maintaining a list of people who can do the coding, and another for all the codes.

if it needs moderating, I'd also like to throw my hat in for that job - quite a lot of experience with phpBB and know my way around t'interwebs..

so.. whatcha think? c'mon.. you know you want to :)

It's not a bad idea, but there is a specific BMW coding forum with a lot of expertise already out there.

I agree, but also nice to have one one here as it will be specific to us, and by people we know.

Great idea as so many ask questions on coding when it's been cover many times but get lost in the depths of the forum topics.
Yes I know there are BMW coding forums but it would be nice to have it specific to z4's.

There is a wealth of knowledge we have gained and members can enjoy from what can be done too how it's done.

Can you not just start some in the How To section? Various threads for different coding topics?
Inpa, sss, NCS Expert, ibus, etc etc

Maybe just start submitting in the how -to section and if there are enough, admins will create the category. Prefix them with
Code:
 so they are easily identifiable?

Good idea.

The for sale section was split after a while because people couldn't find anything. So if we all post with [CODE] in the title we can justify the request if there are enough.

Yes, sounds like a good idea.

sk93 - please stick them in the "How-to" submissions forum and we'll move them into a new coding section.
