Any code readers recommendations ? Ive got the Creator C410 but i cant get on with it at all.. It wont clear old fault codes no matter what i do or try.. Thanks

Maybe the codes won’t reset for a reason?

What codes are you trying to reset?
Its strange because when i go to read code the code says its not there.. There are 4 pages of old codes and they all say not there when i try to read them.. But the code reader just wont delete them.. Hope that makes sense

I’ve always been able to clear engine codes with my creator

Do they clear and come back? Or remain regardless

May be worth finding someone local with INPa or ista to see if that works before investing

I don't understand. If there isn't a code showing, how can you delete it? And then how do you know there is a code if it's not there?

I have a 410 and have had no problems clearing codes, although a couple have come straight back. But that's because the fault is still there.

Hi.. I hope these pics make more sense.. as you can see, there are 4 pages of codes, when i go to read codes they all say no fault code..

From the pictures, it looks like you are reading the scanner wrong.
The first picture is showing you the 'sub-menu', not modules with faults. When you press OK with the sub-menu highlighted it takes you to the 'information' screen of that sub-menu (2nd picture). There are no faults showing when you click on 'read codes' because there aren't any faults.

Either that, or I am missing something.

Just noticed this. The four pages are not codes, just four pages of 'modules' that the scanner is showing.

I don't think you have a problem with your scanner, or your car. Just you are reading the scanner incorrectly.

Agree with the others you are not using it correctly.
Pic1 Shows the modules you can select, page down them to highlight the module you want to scan then hit enter button in the centre.
Pc 2 Shows the functions you can select in the module you have selected, page down to highlight what you want to do and hit enter button in centre.
Pic3 Shows the result of the scan e.g. codes that are present make a note of the codes if any show up then return to the job selection and highlight clear codes to clear them followed by enter centre button. Rescan the module to see if they cleared, if they didn't the fault is a hard fault and will remain until its fixed.

I've had a cruise control code that wouldn't delete. My own code reader wouldn't delete it and Martin's code reader wouldn't delete it. It wasn't until I got scanner 1.4 and used that to delete the code that it was gone for good.

The code wasn't causing any problems and the cruise worked perfectly it's just that it would always come up everytime you'd scan for codes and couldn't be permanently deleted.

Thanks everyuone for replying and helping.. Tried a different scanner today and all codes gone.. Yayyyyy

Have a practice with the Creator to find your way around it, I'm sure you will find it useful going forward.
