Evening all

Following the vanos rebuild last weekend I've now attached a code reader and found two faults

P0171 and P0174 which are both I believe 'System Too Lean'

Have I disturbed something doing the vanos? where would you start to look first?

Symptoms are car idles poorly, but not stalling, on acceleration its great, its only when idling or coming down the gears there is a noticeable issue

Faults cleared and will see tomorrow- but any advice with where to look in what order is graciously accepted!

Hi, the bifurcated rubber air pipe that joins to the throttle body’s a cause of air leats/weak running - they tend to split with age.

Sounds like you have an airleak, check all rubber hoses and intake bellows after the Maf for splits or holes. The lean codes point to unmetered air getting into the vaccum system and being picked up by the exhaust sensors.
