Who is playing the single mode in this kind of games ...
Online maps are much more detailed and very nice new features like the remote car with bombs attached :D
The online mode rocks!!!

I don't know,...who is playing single mode.

?

i think the single mode he refers to is free for all where if it moves shoot it  the people whos gamer tags are listed in the 1st post are ps3 users

A couple of questions which hopefully aren't too off topic :)

1) Did any of you console users previously play first person shooters on PC..and if so ..how long does it take to get used to not working with mouse and keys ?

2) Is there a subscription fee to play online with the playstation like there is on XBox ?

I ask because after nearly 10 years of playing FPS's online on PC (with no subscription fee) it seems my computers spec is no longer up to it for the new releases. So I might pick up an old Playstation and get this new game running on there.

Hi Ferrel,

Played a bit of Quake back in the day on a PC and to be honest, once you get used tot he controller of the console you using it's much a better experience. No subscription fee for PS3. Think its about £40 a year for XBOX Live. I have both PS3 and 360 but play the PS3 much more online (as its free!).

As a side note - if you're planning on buying Black Ops I'd wait until they fix the bugs and connection issues. I've just stopped playing it because for the last hour its kept stopping my games and dropping the connection. I'm now back playing MW2 until it gets sorted out

ps3 is free to use on line  this will be contraversial but the graphics are better on ps3 360 was recently in trouble with the advertising standards for using ps3 screenshots to advertise their games also i have both consoles and prefer ps3 imo, i used to have a few games on pc but much prefer consoles at the end of the day it is personal preference but they are made to play games where as pcs need to do everything plus you constantly need to upgrade your graphics card

I have an Xbox but have always refused to pay a subscription fee to be online.

Will any old Palystation play the new game ?..or is there a superduper new Playstation that I need ?

cant say because like inkeys$ i dont subscribe to 360 but it isnt normaly a issue with most games maybe its sheer volume of players being on line at once i believe it has broke sales records already!

Agree, and must be a Saturday thing too. MW2 is better but still dropping connection on occasion. Must be quite a few battles going on out there in multiplayer-land!

Just popped into my local Tesco and they're doing Black Ops for £25 if you buy a £20 Playstation network card, but did notice they were out of PS3 copies but still had Xbox & PC versions, so from that is the PS3 the more popular format

ok finally opened my copy, had it almost a week

20minns in, really don't like it much, the whole team thing just annoys me.. it's hard to see who you're shooting, & the aim is pants.. it gets one more 30min session when i can be arsed to turn it on, & if it doesn't redeem itself somehow then it's going on ebay.

wud much rather be on f12 2010 or gta iv.

I was a PC man also, I used to play Doom, Quake, Unreal, and all the battlefield series (the best in my opinion). The controller does take a while to get used to, 4 years on and i still aint 100% used to it. I have owned 3 Xbox 360s which all failed on me due to crap design \ build, the PS3 i have now was bought from launch and it's still going strong (touch wood). There is no subscription to pay and the console will also play blurays, why would anyone want a 360?

Welcome to PS3 if you take the plunge, my tag is Krackersbob.

I played the battlefield series for about 5 years. The best Fps in my opinion. I cant imagine a console controller ever being as quick or accurate as a mouse.

I've got into the multiplayer aspect of black ops and really enjoy it now. There are issues but it's much more fun than the campaign.

As for paying for xbox live you get a lot for your money. Considering you can actually get it for £30 for a year that's not a lot of money for potentially hundreds of hours of gaming. It's also a much better service than the PS3 one. I have both consoles and only really use the PS3 for things I can't get on xbox.
