Clutch Stop

Decided to try a UUC clutch stop the other day.

However, I've now just noticed that the car can't seem to start unless the clutch is pushed almost all the way down, probably well past the engagement point. I've tried to screw in the UUC clutch stop in as far as I could but its not far enough, so what do I do now? If the car can't start the clutch stop is useless?

Also, since you can change gears without pusing the clutch in when the car is off, how would I test to see if the clutch stop allows to properly shift?

Is there a switch somewhere on the clutch to prevent starting, if you can find it you could possibly adjust that upwards instead, not sure :scratchhead:

Well I guess the UUC clutch was just too long. I cut off about 4 treads and screwed it in all the way down. Works now.

I use the Rogue engineering stop as its a bit thinner and has more surface area. It alleviated the issues of the 1-2 shift in the OEM setup. I never did put in my CDV, no need to anymore. Shifts nice and smooth. Just have to shift extremely fast.

Does it make much difference then, do you think?

It makes some difference. I don't have a modified CDV either, I think the clutch stop though has made the shifting a bit smoother. It may be possible to shift smoothly now with the clutch stop and original CDV.

I heard the CDV doesn't make much of a difference beyond the 1-2 shift anyway. And I'll probably start off in 2nd gear if I'm taking a passenger.
