Clutch replacement Worcester

I've been quoted £1000 for a clutch and DMF replacement. Is there anyone you would recommend who might be cheaper?

Hi, Just read your post. I did this myself about 2yrs ago. Watch the tutorial on youtube from Bavarian motor works[ or something like that]. I have a E86 coupe and it took 3 weeks to do , mainly because the bolts in the exhaust manifold were rotted off and I had to drill them out , which took ages and 2 sets of drills! The clutch kit and solid flywheel were nearly £500 so 1k to do it is not a bad quote to be honest. Just take your time if you can, I did mine with the car on ramps at the back and axle stands at the front. I am not a mechanic, but have always fixed my own motorbikes and cars. The DMF was very worn and wobbly, fit a solid one, then its just clutch plate and cover for the life of the car. Hope this helps, Stan.

Many thanks Stan.
I've not got space to put it up on ramps so I guess that I'll have to cough up the cash.

Thanks for your advice, though.
Hugh.
