Just wanted to share a great job done by Mike who is on this forum as Ducklakeview.
Mike had previously moved my roof motor, replaced my cam gasket and re gassed my air con, all at very good prices!
Last time I was there he diagnosed a knackered dual mass flywheel and suggested it should be changed, he was spot on as over the next few weeks it became virtually undeliverable.
So yesterday (Sat - to fit in with my work) he replaced the clutch and DMF with a LUK unit (sourced for less money than on euro car parts even when they have their CRAZY(!) deals on!
).
Clutch is now 100% perfect and has of course transformed the car all at a very reasonable price.
But that’s not all......
He also changed the gaskets in the oil filter housing that was leaking and while he had the gearbox out he changed the spigot bearing and oil seal (which as we found out on gearbox removal was leaking anyway).
Also worth noting that while doing this job he noticed a number of significant underfloor bolts that were not tight, so all those were correctly torqued up (and this is a car that has a full and up to date main dealer history!). All this stuff Mike has done because it’s the right thing to do and clearly he does a proper job, and then didn’t charge me any extra for the other stuff along the way. Exceptional.
While I was there a chap turned up to have his Z4 Coupe exhaust modified to sound even more fruity, (sounded amazing!) and the clutch delay valve removed, again the chap was really happy with the work and price!
