Had a strange feeling from the clutch a few times when casually downshifting and not useing the brakes. This is at slow speed going from 3rd I to second as I slow down for speed bumps. It sort of feels like the clutch isn't getting traction and the revs aren't matching the road speed. There is also a slight vibration at the same time. I have removed the CDV over a year ago so it's not related to that. The bite point has become quite high so maybe the clutch is nearly done? i bought it 20 months ago with 50k and it's just gone over 80k.

Just had the clutch go on the mini at around 80k.
The pedal became very stiff for the past 6 months. Then the car refused to go into gear at times before it finally bit the bullet.
If you change it now before it goes you could save the flywheel. Wait too long and both need replaced.

It's not any stiffer than normal or not going into gear. Anyone know what il be looking price wise for a new clutch with/without dmf?

Somewhat similar symptoms on my daughters early 1 series. Odd behaviour on gentle gear changes and strange vibration changing at low speed changes.
Had a new dual mass flywheel fitted under warranty.
Cos the dealer £1 parts and labour (not that that helps
)
Have you tried accelerating reasonably hard in a higher gear on an uphill? That usually finds slipping clutches, although in your case the plates may just be breaking up.

Clutch and DMF are about £400 (LUK) plus about the same to have it fitted, Unless your going to do it yourself.
Unless it's already been changed, the DMF is going to be well past it's best by 80K, so it's a no brainier to swap it while the box is removed.
While the box and prop shaft is off it's worth having the diff input lubed to stop/prevent the infamous metallic"Click” when pulling away from a standstill - the additional labour cost (If any) would be minimal.

Yeah there's no slip other than gentle down shifts and that's happend maybe twice. Starting in third or accelerating hard in any gear there is no issues at all.
Then I'd be investigating the fitting if s dmf and of course new clutch while in there

Its either the clutch worn,driveplate contaminated or clutch cover going weak.
Whichever,the box will need to come out to see whats happening.
If the clutch is worn,and i suspect it will be as well as the dual mass,then change it all.Its false economy not too..

^ exactly this, once the box is out there's no point not replacing clutch and DMF.
