Clutch Judder…get it checked!

So a few weeks ago there was a topic here regarding clutch judder, I had been getting it a bit now and again and decided to get the car into the dealer to get it checked along with a few other things. I dropped the car off on Monday evening and have a 61 plate 118 as a loaner. I received a phone call this afternoon from them telling me they have found the cause of the judder.…the flywheel has collapsed!
Fortunately the car is covered under the AUC warranty and they are also going to replace the clutch.
Mine is a 2.2 and only covered just under 42k so I would advise anyone experiencing the judder to get it checked out.
I am now very glad I hadn't messed about with the CDV as I am sure they would have used this against the warranty claim.
My intention for posting this is so anyone suffering with a similar issue gets a "heads-up" and is not to start a debate about the CDV.

Did you get the clutch judder on every pull away? I get judder very occasionally if the revs are at a certain point, I had just put it down to oscillation through the drivetrain but this post worries me slightly...especially as I have just removed my CDV valve!

It wasn't all the time, just when i didnt get the rpm's spot on. Put your CDV back on and get it checked even if it's just for piece of mind.

How would you describe this?
I have not had my Z4 long. I don't think I get a juddering but I do get an odd noise when in nutrial and release the clutch

That sounds more like the clutch release bearing, it was a sharp juddering I was getting.

Oh I don't think I have had that. Clutch release bearing, something I should be worried about??

Not overly, I've heard a lot of cars do it.
I've just got my car back and so far it feels great. My clutch was really heavy before and now it feels much lighter. Maybe a heavy clutch is a side effect of a collapsed flywheel!
Oh and I saw the warranty bill…£1063 ouch!

Crikey glad of the warranty then!! Is that a AUC warranty?

I won't worry too much about the bearing noise, it seems to be intermitant
