Any pics? :P

Edit - I'm sure there was a pic somewhere with a hose + no CDV and then a hose + original CDV for reference?

Well that sounds a lot simpler than gagging about with the valve before refitting! That way, if it wa taken out completely come the day to sell, it's still standard and can be popped back in.

So just double checking...
1) There is no need to modify the valve
2) There is no need for a special hose adapter to connect the rubber pipe to the steel one
3) They connect together with no issues and work like a charm?!

Why would anyone modify one then? Or get a new one?

If the above is correct... Brilliant! Will do it tomorrow lunch

Yes. I actually asked my Indy about (2) and he said that some people take the opportunity to put a braided hose in, but it's not a part that has a high failure rate (unlike the rear brake hoses, for example).

Hope the mod goes well.

Took mine off yesterday... Why is it even on in the first place!? 100% better than with it in place! I removed the whole thing and joined the pipes together. Changes are smooth as a wee ones cheeks! Big big difference.
Happy motoring

What are the differences between punching it out or removing it completely? I.e, why would you not just remove it?

Got mine done at ATS euro master, ponswood industrial estate, hastings took Nigel 10mins including bleeding afterwards and they charged £20. Very happy, just more enjoyable driving it now.

They didn't know what I was talking about but I printed off info explained the reason

If they know what they are doing, then it's this much & this simple. There are some concerns this mod can cause premature damage to the flywheel, but if you can change gear properly is one mod that really improves driving experience (on a non //M)

What way was the CDV taken out here. Was it completely removed or an adapted CDV put in. Is there any more strain or damage having the CDV removed. I will be having it done by the above address as its just down the road from myself

I did give them a heads up as they hadn't done it before
They even used this double clamp pole to squeeze the hose without damaging it, better than a pair of mole grips.
Another happy customer

I know it's a bit of repition but ill just add my bit

Removed valve completely, nothing was put in its place it was joined up together as both threads same size and hose had plenty of slak which didn't make it taught.
