thanks Daz, even though I'm sadly selling mine I will look into this as it's certainly caught me out a couple of times when I first started driving it, and it's caught out the other half and my old man, so certainly not something I'd want to happen during a test drive!
...and there I was almost thinking my clutch might be on the way out. Had the operation undertaken using my indy... amazed at the immediate difference.
Finally after about a year i had the CDV replaced last week. Now first of all i didnt notice a big difference but after a day or so not having to worry about ninja timing with the clutch was great. I got caught out as well about a day or two before... Bounced along a main road first thing!
I have to endorse this post 100%
I have had my Z4MC for nearly 12 months. For the first 7-8 months, I honestly thought I had lost the ability to drive (manual) My last car was an M5, so I really thought I had become lazy about the simple but pleasurable act of changing gears the way you should!!!!
To anyone and everyone reading this thread; you have to change the CDV or just remove it. I went to a Beemer specialist in Ealing and paid £59- incl for the job. It has released the true potential of the car. For the first few days, I genuinely thought I had another 40BHP on tap. that is just how marked the improvement felt.

More smiles per mile that any other mod. Trust me
