Clutch clatter/rattle

I’m about to replace the clutch kit and DM Flywheel because of this. Should I even bother?

If it was happening in 2008 with cars that were only two years old I wouldn't worry, mine makes the same noise and it's an 08 with 74k on it, funnily enough so did my other halfs Mini Cooper S and that also had a DMF.

Hmmm that’s kind of a relief. I still might replace the clutch and have a look while it’s out. I’m on 78k now. Cheers

Ive had a couple of Si manuals around 90k that had a DMF noise that went away when clutch was depressed ,both drove fine & changed gear sweet with no clutch slip , my indy said the noise was most likely there for the last 50k & would most likely last another 50k so i just lived with it . Never had it with the 2 auto Si coupes i had though

I was wondering if that when the engine is turned off should it make a mechanical rattling noise?

Tired engine mounts will allow a rattle as the engine stops, since replacing mine I no longer have a rattle on turning off the ignition.

As others have said, it's just DMF noise. My 2007 Coupe which I bought over 2 years ago, has made this noise since I got it-I was worried to begin with, but, research shows that most do it and even spending £££ on a new unit, the noise soon returns!

I've driven 13000 miles since purchase, car still engages gear fine, no clutch slip, so just except that's how it is!
