Closing roof

Does anyone else find that when closing the roof, the rear lid slams pretty hard on the rear deck? I've noticed it with two other Z's as well. Could be a bit more subtle imo for such a nice car :)

Only thing i find when closing/opening the roof when the boot bit slowly closes and locks before the windows go up is it makes a rubber rubbing noise.

I have gone over all the seals i can find with the roof, its cover and the boot with gummi pflege but still not figured where its doing it :?

Check the gap between the top of the rear bumper and the lower edge of the boot. Mine was misaligned and the boot lid rubbed against the bumper (on the edge where the boot badge/opening handle is) scraping the paint but making a rubber like noise when finally closing or just opening. The right distance is only about 5mm and I had a 2mm gap until the dealer fixed it. Presto no more rubbing or noise.

hmmm not 100% sure where you mean maniac. If you mean the gap between the bumper and the start of the boot lip mine is about 2mm but it does seem all in alignment with the rest of boot. Would be great if you could take a picture of yours and highlight where your on about. I just thought it was normal, another seal on the car on the way out lol

Just noticed 1 of the rear light clusters is starting to get mist in it :(. Appears to be a common problem, thank the lord its got extended warranty

Yes thats the gap I'm talking about, mine was so close that when the boot lid swings back and up it scraped very slightly on the bumper making a creaking noise. 2mm is very close, like mine used to be so I'd suggest having someone open the roof/close the roof while you crouch and double check. Mines now some 4/5mm and when the lid moves it clears the bumper by 2/3mm... very close tolerances.

U know there is a "little T" at the bottom part of the back window?? That acutally goes "into"the boot...the T has a cloth stick on it and stop it banging too hard... check if the cloth at u z4 is gone...my one fell out, lucky somehow i saw it at the mirror..otherwise u nvr know is gone....

Thanks! I already checked the "T part" once as I think it makes noise on rough roads, top down then the car is quiet. Can't remember there was a cloth thingy on it, so will check again.
