Saw that on eBay myself and almost considered it but it lacked the Center console.
I’m now giving serious consideration to taking out my aluminium and hydro dipping it
Has anyone done this?

I vinyl wrapped my old piece. It's actually for sale (shameless plug -> https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183750804784) but willing to take offers, might be handy to use as a test piece and saves you dismantling yours then you could simply swap pieces over when successful

I'm considering this as my next mod. I think mac27040 (the zedfest guy) has done it to various parts. My current 3M carbon wrap to the dash trims still looks good, but after 4 years the adhesive is starting to fail in a few spots. Plus I fancy a nice glossy carbon fibre finish this time around

I like the idea of it and I think it would be a cheaper mod. Too, there is a myriad of hydro designs available so it would be all too easy to find a unique look.
I was though concerned about how easy it would be to scratch? Given that hydro dipping is a very thin film, do you have @ny advice/suggestions or relevant experience?
