Clock reset

I found my Z's clock and calendar had reset themselves today, is it due to the clocks going back? A random error? Or possibly signs of a bigger problem?

Y2K bug?

The time was blanked.

Battery is what I'm thinking, but oddly the car started pretty easily despite the cold.

This happened again this morning, plus the traction control and handbrake warning lights came on :|
New battery ordered, now for the fun of taking apart half the boot to swap them out

I would say battery too... since installing LED angel eyes I have noticed that when starting the car while starter motor is turning they are getting hardly any power and go extremely dim as opposed to starting the car after a long run where there is hardly difference in brightness. My guess is the battery is on its way out and only a matter of time before a cold start doesnt provide enough power to the clock etc causing it to reset. In my old E36 you could always tell of battery problems as the ABS light used to come on while cranking... if the power dropped too low it didnt let you have another go.

Yep...

Exactly the same symptoms as mine last week.. New AGM battery has sorted it..

Where are you getting a Bosch S6 for £120 from ?

Its only the boot floor board isnt it?

couple of questions, mine lost the clock and indicators plus sidelights while driving,,,,,,, plus the airbag light came on.. stopped and restarted and all back to normal... (starting to sound like the phone for u advert) could this be my battery..

Had a couple of overheating warnings but the car engine was not hot and would then clear... again battery??

Yea its a doddle..

10 mins to swap the battery..........At the most!

3 pins and 3 x 10mm nuts remove the cover..

1 x 10mm clamp bolt

Both termials are 10mm....

Simple..

It took me ages to realise there were three bolts and not just two when I went to install the intravee  the back wall carpet was the real pain though.

I did a search for battery on this forum and found a link for the battery at £120 www.carbatteriesonline.co.uk

Most other places seemed to be a fiver more.

Thats a great price....

I managed to get the same battery for £100,but i am in the trade and pulled a favour....

Winter is coming so its a good buy..
