Climate control

I was wondering how effective people people find the auto air con at actually maintaining a 'comfortable' temperature?
It seems that no matter what temperature I set it to (aside from the coldest setting i.e. dial all the way to left) , it just gets too hot.

My girlfriend says the temperature is 'perfect', which convinces me that I'm not going nuts and it is too hot!
Does anyone else have this problem, or is their something wrong with it? :headbang:

There are a total of five small bulbs within the climate control..
I priced them through Honda and they were 10-12 dollars a piece.Like $57.00 or so I think it was.. So you might be able to find them cheaper at an auto supply..

Thanks.

Not the most 'delicate' of controls in the Zed to set the temperature but usually no problems.

I have auto climate control and it works great. But then again, I have a coupe so it's easier for it to maintain temps.

I don't have a prob, 90% of the time I leave it on auto & maybe adjust the temp by a couple of degrees but once its to temp I find it holds it well....

While I don't have a coupe I have had 3 roadsters. One with manual controls and 2 with auto and maintaining a comfortable cabin has never been a problem in any of them with temps ranging from -20F/-29C to 115F/46C...

Why.....?

Because. :driving:
I would argue that in the summer the roadster with the insulated fabric roof is easier to cool that the coupe with the tin roof.... :poke:

I find the same as Adam. My temperature control rarely moves from the range 16 to 18 degrees. Anything more and it's too hot. I thought that there was a fault with it but from what Adam says it seems that is normal.

Try re-gassing the air-con?

To be honest, even when I put the 'Max' aircon button on, it's still not fantastically cold (not even as good as my old clio) so this sounds like it may help. Apologies for my ignorance in this area, but how would I go about getting done? Also, I bought the car as a BMW approved used only 3 months ago - would this be something that would be done under warranty or more of a routine maintenance thing?

Thanks,

Adam

I would argue that in the summer the roadster should have its roof down. Then who's cooler? 8)

Sure sounds like it needs gassing as mine will freeze you out very quickly.

LOL. It gets rather hot here and the sun can be brutal (yet another reason for a coupe) :P

I know Kwik-Fit do it and probably quite a few others garages... doubt BMW would do it without being asked...

Same here - was worried mine was faulty. I normally have to crank it right down - anything above 20 is just hot!
