Climate Control Small Problem

Only driven my car a few time this year after a visit to the dealer on the 30th Dec. I have noticed that the climate control is in manual mode, I put into auto and it stays there, but the next journey it will revert back to manual.

I have called the dealer and they are going to speak to the workshop to see if there is a fix I can do, and they also checked what was done during the last visit just to be sure. I know this is a car and key feature, but why has it changed the way it works.

I will try the other key tonight (the one I always give to the dealer), but why is this happening now, any ideas?

Did the dealers perhaps disconnect the battery when they had it in and this reset that option - perhaps??

Depends on the time of disconnect. I lost all key settings when they fixed an aerial problem on a previous 3 series.

Dealer left message on voicemail advising that the climate control will not start in auto mode, the key only records the manual settings.

What a load of bo**ocks

I started to doubt that seriously when they wanted to update / charge for the software for the iDrive for my E53 X5.

... (for info - it does not have iDrive, that is the E70).

Well luckily I think I have sorted this myself. The fan switch was resting mid position between two settings so when starting the car the climate went into auto mode for a few seconds then switched to manual. I will confirm this later, but I'm sure I have fixed it. :D
