Dead climate control buttons!

Hi all

Today I just finished installing a mr12volt box. After some trials and tribulations, I got it running! I ran into an issue with it not detecting, and discovered the iPod retrofit was bypassing it.

I’ve reworked the MOST wires, to bypass it and it worked well. I left the box in place though. As it was installed on the shelf above the head unit, behind the climate controls.

My immediate thought was I’ve affected something, but I don’t see how I have.

The climate controls have nothing. No lights, no response, nothing is happening. Although there is a small flow of air coming through the vents.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Elsewhere on the internet suggested it could be because of low battery power… I’m hoping this IS why (since I was testing the box alot due to the issues I was having.

Any experiences?

You’ve not fully seated one of the connectors on the back of the climate control unit…I made the same error..

I didn’t touch the climate control unit. Unless I knocked it out when reaching round to pull out the iPod cable.

I’ll check it out tomorrow - thanks

I’m offering 20 to 1 odds..

So I’m pretty certain it’s a fuse. Since the bulbs in the glove box and boot are also out… apparently they’re on the same circuit (weird).

….but how to access the fuses??

Remove the panel above the passenger footwell 3x torx screws, lower the panel, un clip the footwell light and remove the panel, then you will see a finger turn screw, unscrew this, about 3 turns and lower the fuse box, it should then pull towards you to access the fuses, if you pull too far it will fall off. You may find that the wires coming from the top of the fuse box are looped over the dash frame stopping it sliding forward, I had to unclip a connector and re position it, when unplugging it started the wipers and I think the alarm.

Simples 🤪

Thanks!

If you jump to 19:28 on this video, I show how to access the fusebox
