I think most of us try to do something green - even 3.0l Six cylinder cars are less polluting these days - but in the press is news that Japan is to build 22 coal fired power stations!!!

And we are going to go all electric cars in ten years time ???

“Together the 22 power plants would emit almost as much carbon dioxide annually as all the passenger cars sold each year in the United States.”

The Chinese don’t give a flying **** about the planet. Mind you I’m hardly fit to talk riding around in a 3litre car that’s unnecessary. :(

I can justify both my 3.0l cars as being retired old farts the 335 does 100 miles a week and the z4 about 80 (avg)
Along with that I use the local park and ride with my codgers bus pass for trips into town!

 :oldman:

I do about 80-100 miles a month in ALL my cars!
Can I be classed green as the Hulk?

A few years back I was in New Delhi, I suffer from Asthma, the smog/pollution from the sheer number of cars clogging the roads made me chronically breathless. Never had Asthma attacks like these in my life!
Too many cars per square inch I think  :o

Its not the cars thats the issue, its too many humans on the planet, until this issue is resolved or slowed down any other solutions will be futile :D

There you go plain and simple. That is the problem. Sad but simple and true.

I can't really see things changing to be honest, Western Countries will continue to do their bit going green but eastern countries in their pursuit of consumerism to catch up with the west will continue driving forwards their consumption that will far outweigh any benefits of you insulating your home, going vegan and pottering around in milkfloats. Personally I think its already too late to make any real difference if we're to believe the experts that the planet is warming up.

The only bright side is technology is moving fast but its cost over everything.

Tim.

I tend to agree - but we don’t help!
We all have phones and computers etc made in China and that neck of the woods.
