Cleaning with toothpaste

I have just had a go at cleaning my Z's headlights with floride toothpaste. Got to say I am amazed at the results. Crystal clear as the day they were made. I think the neighbours think I have a screw or 2 loose now thou !!!!!!!!!

I used McCleans whitening but didnt apply with a brush

I guess it's just a smooth grinding paste so should work.

Better still is to use the poper plastic cleaner and polish. On a Porter Cable it shines them up in seconds and removes deep scratches with a bit more time

Can I use window cleaner for headlights?

I've used Megs window cleaner (and Mr Muscle) to get the bugs off mine in the past with no ill effects. I do need to do something more intensive though to remove some strange patternation at the top of the lenses, will give the toothpaste/plastic polish idea a try.
