Cleaning tips for alloys?

Autoglym Super Resin Polish followed by a wheel sealant such as Poorboys will help the keep the brake dust off. Will need to be clean before you apply it though.

Hi
Use "iron X" , not cheap but if you want the wheels looking like new this is the stuff.

Then give them a blast with "Tardis" after and job done.

Coat the wheel with finish care hi temp past wax.

Once clean, coat with Gtechniq C5 - after that it becomes as close to a touchless wash as you can get - it's not cheap but one coat will last up to a year.

Iron-X

My mate had worn his pads down to the metal and nothing shifted the welded on deposits except this.

Fun to use as well due the colour change reaction!

The best thing I've used for cleaning and it's ph neutral. But since using collinite 845 insulator wax as a wheel seal I've not had to use any cleaner just car shampoo is enough.

I use Purple Rain from Autobrite direct as a decontamination remover

and applied 4 coats of poor boys wheel sealant

get a good high gloss protection and brake dust is easy to remove

IronX and then Nanolex cleaner and sealant ......expensive but just so worth it.

The sealant can last for 12 months!
