Cleaning The Wind Deflector!

There must be a simple answer I am sure but how does everyone here clean theirs?

For anyone interested in getting one there is an almost complete kit up on ebay right now:

Run a sink of warm water..wet the deflector, use normal washing up fluid gently massaged in, soak in sink…air dry…on my first car the amount of dirt was incredible..the visibility through the deflector changed beyond all expectations..
 
As above warm soapy water massaged in with a tooth brush and you will ot believe the amount of dirt - the water will literally turn black if it hasn't been done for a while :o
 
Be interesting to analyse the black stuff.
Having done some work on traffic lights they get covered in black stuff, i assume a mix of tyre, brake dust, diesel fumes and general dust.
 
Thanks guys I'll try the soapy water method this weekend. I've had it now two years and just removed it the other day and realised how dirty it was!

Next project will be how on earth to clean the inside of the rear screen, haven't done that since I bought the car coz I can't figure out how! Doesn't seem to be too dirty mind.

That's a great suggestion :thumbsup:
Just cleaned my winddeflector in a tub.
Should have made a before and after picture.
Visibility noticeably improved :driving:

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try with the roof half open but it kept closing so couldn't clean the screen, will try it with the engine on when I next get around to cleaning the inside, it's way too hot over here at the moment to do much. :thumbsup:

I use Windex but then again, mine is glass now. :D
