Cleaning the DISA

I don't have any reason to suspect there is a problem with the DISA valve, but looking into preventative maintenance and such I figure this is a good thing to check. So, I'm going to pop it out and have a look. How would you go about cleaning the deposits off? A rag and a spot of some kind of oil?

I used a little Simple Green on a clean rag. It seemed to do the trick just fine.

Thanks sbtwister, I wasn't sure if any kind of cleaning product would be best, or oil. Since it worked for you, I'll use that unless anyone else believes there's a strong reason to use something else.
