Has anyone out there tried cleaning there soft top with liquid carpet cleaner and a carpet cleaning machine with a small wand.... ?? This is the point where you say its a bad idea..... Most modern carpet cleaning liquids are pretty colour safe I would have thought.....

I thought maybe the machine would pull out the dust and grime particles a cleaning kit may not.... just wandered if anybody has tried it....
:?

Have you tried a roof cleaning kit on your carpet? Keep it simple

That only works if you fold your carpet into the corner of the room if it's not raining :)

My roof was always washed regularly with BMW cleaner and a soft brush and looked clean, then someone on here mentioned using a wet vac'. When I gave it a go after rinsing I was shocked by the brown mess that was lifted from my supposedly 'clean' roof! Two more wash 'n vacs later the water finally cleared. So I'd recommend using a wet vac to remove water during the wash and rinse process, but I'd stick to roof cleaning products

Thanx Ewazix, this is what I was wandering... its the little particles of gritty dirt that help contribute to the demise and poor appearance of the soft top, I'm guessing the abrasion effect they would have, over time, on the material could leave it looking manky...
And Yeah to be honest I have lots of liquid carpet cleaner and no specific hood cleaning products, was just trying to save myself a bob or two....YES I am Mr Stingy...ha..

This can make water bead up like it’s been waxed.
