Cleaning my Zeds roof

I have noticed a small amount of green mould appearing in a tiny part of the corner of the roof. What are the best solutions for firstly getting it off and then prevent it re appearing. Advice please.

I think there's a thread on here about using sterilising fluid, the type used for baby's bottles. It kills the mould spores. If you do a search I'm sure it's here somewhere.

I used the autoglym kit yesterday and was VERY impressed.

I didn't get time to use the sealant as it rained, but the cleaner was great!

I hardly clean my roof at all

The green growing on it I use a nail brush and scrub it out

The rest of the time I dont use any product just rinse it through with water every wash

Once a year after the winter soap and big brush

Have bought the Autoglym kit on Amazon for a very respectable £17! Will give it a try when it arrives and let you know the results. Thanks for the help :D

There's no need Stuart. You can do it one of two ways, either spray very close to the roof so you don't get overspray or spray into the sponge.

On the topic of the cleaner, I couldn't disagree more with Jonny on the cleaner. I've tried snowfoam, tried baby shampoo, tried car shampoo, all sorts. The autoglym cleaner with the weird hard sponge is superb. The colour of he sponge when I'd finished was insane, really felt like it gave it a good clean. I'll seal it next weekend and post pictures as long as it doesn't rain.

If you spray close you don't get the coverage. I picked up the tip from youtube I think and it worked really well. Stippling it in with a clean paintbrush really worked it into the fabric and the roof was still beading after about 6 months when the first treatment (spraying) lasted half the time. I don't know how long it will last as I sold the car.

I need to do IMmie now as the roof fabric is sodden from the rain.

Another vote for Autoglym's cleaner when used with the sponge to agitate the cleaner well into the hoods fabric. I tend to snowfoam the hood weekly which keeps it looking good and give it a a hoover over.

I find Autoglyms proofer OK but it tends to leave a shelac coating on the hood which I don't like and its a pig to remove if you get it on the glass and paintwork. Have used Renevos proofer but found it pretty much useless compared to ordinary and cheaper tent proofer.

I tend to use Gtechniq I1 Smart Fabric proofer now which is pretty good.
