cleaning light colored interiors

I have a silver grey metallic Z4 with a beige interior. I really think that color combination is striking.

If it isn't raining or freezing, I keep the top down on my roadster. The problem: The interior of the car tends to catch a LOT of dirt and filth during top down driving, which is highly visible due to the beige interior. While I'm generally able (see exception below) to keep the hard plastic panels behind and between the seats clean with a simple spraying of Simple Green and a paper towel, nothing I've used on the beige door cards / door panels seems to clean them. Maybe it's the texture of the door cards, I don't know. They are stained with general road grime. I've let various products sit on them, to no avail. I've tried using an old toothbrush to wet scrub them, without result.

The exception to the above statement about the hard plastics is scuff marks from shoe dressing, shoe polish, etc. These are the only "permanent" marks on the kick panels around the bottom of the interior.

So, for those of you with a light colour interior:

1) What do you use on the door cards/panels to clean them? How do you apply it?

2) How do you remove coloured scuff marks from the kick panels?

I have a date with a new girl coming up this weekend, and wanted to detail the car to perfection before she steps inside. Help!

For cleaning my door cards i use a medium strength mix of all purpose cleaner, as i find a weak mix doesnt cut it, simply spray on and agitate with stiff brush to really work it into the grain and then wipe with a microfibre cloth, repeat until your happy its clean, i dont dress interior surfaces.

For removing shoe scuffs etc i would use a "magic sponge" not sure what they're called over in the states but im sure you could get them, link below;

Hope that helps matey :thumbsup:

No worries and yep they look the same :thumbsup:

Just go easy with them so as not to damage your door cards as they are very midly abrasive.
