Cleaning Halogen Projectors

Hi.

Having nearly died when I didn't see the side of the road jutting out I've decided on campaign headlight!

One suggestion is to take out the projectors and clean the insides. I have 2 questions...

1) Do I just take the projector out by undoing the 4 nuts viable behind cover from the wheel arch?

2) Lots of people say the inside of the projector is very delicate and can be ruined easily. What do I clean them with.

TIA

M

I’ve just done this myself. Very straight forward. Four little nuts as you said. I just used a soft microfibre cloth. No product.

HI BG1- see write up here I did- hope it helps

Instead of cleaning them you could upgrade to Morimoto projectors for a cleaner crisper safer output 👀 Just saying 😁

Am I right in thinking the Morimoto projector upgrade is only for Xenon lights? I’m struggling to find projectors for Halogen lights. Thanks.

I had to replace my Xenon units because of water ingress, replaced with halogen units and fitted an HID kit, i cant see a difference in the beam pattern only that when i operate high beam only my central bulbs operate and not the dip.

Hit up Trups on this email, he can supply new projectors which are bolted in with 3 bolts, and then supply you with the HID kit for them that go with your specific setup. [email protected]. Very informative and surprisingly very cheap. :D

I changed my Halogen lights to the Morimito directly. As HU51A-FU says Trups is your man. He sold me everything I needed including various links so the dip worked properly. He is very helpful and happy to chat on the phone if you run into trouble.
