Cleaning black wheels?

So I've just got a new car with black wheels, its more a matte type finish and was wondering if I should just clean them with the usual products and usual ways or is there anything anyone uses specifically for black wheels? I'm not looking forward to cleaning them as they have 101 spokes haha :headbang:

Also any recommendations on keeping the tyre walls black, I saw a turtle wax product that has great reviews but is only available in America at the moment.

Mine have been treated to a polish, then a coating of GTechniq C5. After washing I apply a quick detailer (to remove any water-spots) and treat the tyres to a coat of Adams VRT (link). Important thing is to dress the tyres as scruffy tyres detract from the wheels, but don't overdo the dressing as you get splatter. Adams VRT is a less glossy/shiny finish than a lot of gels, but suits the matt black wheels.

Thanks for that reply and photo, looks like it does the job so am going to be looking that up now and probably ordering it asap as my wheels are now starting to get dusty brown look.

That's a nice pic :)captures the alloy style/finish & tyre to perfection  i like that a lot 8)

I didn't realise you'd moved from Alpina wheels Mark? Good finish on them, mind!

Still got the Alpina wheels, stevo. They were refurbed in anthracite, thinking about going darker with them, but for now wanted some stronger alloys whilst the local council decides how they will address the dirt-tracks that are the current Lincolnshire roads... I've always preferred the black and red look, not a fan of the silver accents and wheels that BMW applied (and Alpina maintained)

And thanks Andy - very happy with them and the look.

Again the wheels and tyres look great! I also agree with you about the red and black look as its always been one my favourite colour combinations anyway plus I'm a fan of black alloys, I know some people hate them full stop.
