Cleaning black trim

What do people find best for cleaning black trim (such as around windows etc)? When I bought my car they all looked nice and black, but after a few washes they look a bit grey and blotchy now, so I guess whatever was on them has worn off. Seen a few people recommending aerospace 303 but seems to be mainly used for under the bonnet?

Expensive but actually good value when you see the results and how long it lasts.

I use autoglym vinyl & rubber spray. Or should I say, I used to and have now become too lazy since it ran out. It was left over from my days of driving a car with a vinyl roof, but it works a treat AND it smells of lemons.

Coming from a detailing perspective let me recommend you do the following to restore the trim:

1. Clean the trim using APC and a cotton towel to remove any trim dressings that may be on there from previous applications. 1Z Deep Plastic Cleaner is also quite good at this.

2. Coat the trim with CarPro DLux. This isn't a dressing, but a "glass" coating that lasts quite long. It will not look greasy, but nice and new with some gloss.

I can show you mine.

Trim before. Not too bad, a little uneven:

DLux last for a year + if the prep is done correctly.
