Cleaned my Exhaust tips today

I am going to wash my car after lunch. :) I thought you forgot your old car after having the new toy.

Use Brasso for the chrome and I use a polishing bit that fits on the end of a drill to clean the insides of the pipes. Just like Kryton's, comes out really clean (and reaches 2-3 inches inside the pipes)

Thought yours would be self cleaning via sound waves blasting? 8)

All 3.0 versions had the chrome tips - so why not yours ???

They are the standard exhaust on the early 3.0 as far as i am aware have seen plenty on the road with exact same exhaust as mine.

Mine was a March 04 which had them standard as well. What month is yours?

Late June wonder why some have tips and some dont as i have seen others with no tips like mine and i know my car was as it left the factory when i bought it as my mate who works for BMW checked the car out for me right back to day one.

Think they look quite good for an 04 car[/quote="Kryton"] ]

Indeed it looks cool. Chrome tips on the standard exhaust is what i've gone for too. Mine's a 2004 model.

The other guy in the forum, just has the normal exhaust without the chrome ends.

To keep clean...just wash car, wipe with a cloth, bit of polish job done, nothing more complex than that :)

After hard work this afternoon. Result. :D

I also had to use steel wool pad to remove the black deposit on the pipes, then polished with Autosol.

Was feeling left out, so thought I'd have a go :)

Not great, but was more than enough hard work for me. Is this as good as they'll get or should I be trying harder? I suspect I know the answer to that one!
