Hi guys,

So I had some spare time today so decided to try and tackle the shiny seats my zed has at the moment.

I have seen previously that the 'magic eraser' cleaners do wonders so I gave one ago. The results were remarkable to say the least...

So, the products (along with about one hour of my time):

The seats before (its hard to make out just how shiny they were):

The eraser after wiping the seats:

The results were lovely - like bloody new - matt finish leather M Sport seats :D

I would definitely recommend these two products to anyone - give it ago you will be amazed at the difference.

Thanks

I hope you conditioned them afterwards.

You'd have been better off using gliptone cleaner and conditioner tbh.

Aren't the magic erasers pretty abrasive? Wouldn't have to use them too many times before you start to damage the leather.

Most leather cleaners will remove the 'shine' from leather (caused by body oils). Zymol leather cleaner and condition products work great and won't damage the leather.

I assumed they had never been cleaned before, so I wanted to use something fairly 'abrasive' as you say.

It wont be needed again though I suspect.

Looks like gives the same effect as the magic sponge. It will dry take the olis out of the leather :(

As ben g said, you will get the same result using Gliptone cleaner and conditioner which is safer and kinder to the leather!

ah ok, well good work they certainly look much better. Leather cleaners and a detailing brush / microfibre towel will do in future though.

Bit hard to see the results from pics posted but applaud your efforts .
I find the best product for cleaning & nourishing the leather upholstery is BMW,s own product , always leaves the seats looking & feeling great
As a matter of routine i treat the leather seats at least twice a month 8)

I genuinely don't think they had been cleaned before. The 'muck' that came off the steering wheel was crazy.

Feels great now. Cheers guys.
