Clean Silver Zed & Wind Deflector Fitted

Working from home today, so it seemed rude not to give the car a quick wash, and fit something I've had lying around for a while but have been putting off doing (due to it being something you can get very wrong) - the wind deflector.

The zed was quite dirty (not that it shows on a silver motor), thankfully a mate sorted me some photos of his uncles wind deflector so I could fit it in the right place, making my life easier. Cheers dude.

Some wanted some better pictures of the wheels, so hopefully these fulfil the requirements.

After:

Wash with 2BM and topped up with some more wax, I even remembered the tyre shine!

And the wind deflector, I hate drilling into your car...

Drilled bracket:

In place, just clips in and out and can clip into a bracket on the underside of the boot lid for storage

Xenons next, then, who knows?

Commets and crit welcome.

Thanks mate, that was a before photo, cleaned off, touch of polish and it was long gone.

Very nice indeed

Looking forward to seeing it at the weekend - best keep an eye on those wheels though. I want 'em :D

You may have shamed me into washing mine quickly tomorrow now

Cheers Binglesby (I can see this catching on).

Don't make it too clean, I wouldn't want to get my grubby paw prints on it when it's all shiny, I'll be careful

I'd better fit some locking wheel nuts now..

So to fix the brackets onto the hoops you use self-tapping screws or what? Also can you please post pic of this boot lid bracket please? :poke:

I'll sort a picture out yes. It's a kit from BMW though and is about a tenner.

With regards to the fitting, BMW supply screws, but they're actually too long to just drill a small hole (3mm) and let the screw do the work.

So, you can either cut the screws down, not a lot of hassle, they're only small, or I happened to have some perfect ones lying around from an old Clio spoiler fixing I did.

Just been out with the top down, not sure why everyone says the wind deflector does nothing... I'm pretty impressed with the reduced wind in the cabin!
